How Your Music Gets Into Network Television

Go step by step through the entire process. We get an early draft of a script about raves and meth dealers in CSI (or similar). What happens next? Script ideas, on-camera performances from a DJ or artist, spotting session after picture locks, creative process of pitching tracks for specific scenes, licensing/clearances, fee negotiation, mix and air dates. The anatomy of a music license and how it lives within the lifespan of a single television episode.
