How To Make a DJ Really Listen to Your Track

While some DJs increasingly use friends or assistants to filter out favourites from each week’s releases there’s even a company now that (for a fee) preselects promos. So how as an artist can you stand out and persuade a DJ to listen to your music, then equally importantly react when he or she likes it? And how can the value of that reaction be maintained, when promo companies report more and more DJs gaining free advertising by posting ‘love this, will play’ supporter comments on promo press releases despite company systems show they haven’t even listened to the tracks? Dave Clarke and guests including Dean Muhsin (Dispersion), Musiqware.com’s Herman Verkade (‘DJs want their names on our promo sheet for free advertising’) and Exclusive Promo’s Adam Carter discuss.

Moderator: Dave Clarke (GB/NL)
Professional DJ for over 20 years, radio host, producer, remixer, consultant in both business and technical.

Adam Carter (Exclusive Promo, GB)

Since that time the company have built an impressive and enviable roster of labels and clients.
